The marsh 241D is almost entirely maintenance free.
However, we do recommend that for routine maintenance, you give the print head a quick clean after every 6 rolls of ribbon.
This regular printhead cleaning will prevent the chance of decreased print quality and also keep the printhead in good condition, which will maximise its working lifetime.
Take a look at this video to see how easy it is to clean the printhead, or Sign In (or Register, if you haven't done so already) and refer to the step-by-step guide in our comprehensive Document Library. No tools are required and the cleaning wipes are shipped for free with your ribbon.
There is no other routine service maintenance required on the coder.
You will eventually need to change the Platen Rubber in the bracket. There is no set time for this change, because it depends on several factors, however, you can expect to need to change the Platen Rubber a little more often if you almost always have the coder fixed in the same position in its bracket and if you use a high printing force, as these will combine to wear out the Platen Rubber a little more quickly. You can buy new Platen Rubber from our store here.
